Lets see - well it's springtime (Yippee!) Emma, daddy and I have been gearing up to tackle the summer months here in humid-completely unbearable-hell-of-a-hot summer North Carolina. I can't complain too much though, our Maryland hometown has just about the same weather in the summer, although it lasts SO much longer here.
I've been a little daring lately, so i'm trying my hand at painting my black thumb green. I have weeded the front "rocks", rearranged the sea shells on the side of the house, sprayed the weeds in the front garden and preparing for it to be re-mulched, and my good friend, (and fabulous neighbor) Heather and I bought ourselves some herbs at Lowes this past weekend. Now, the last time I grew herbs I started from scratch - planting the seeds in little brown containers that I failed to put into pots, watering a few times a day, (a few times too many it seems) they sprouted, grew one bud, then died a quick and painless death. So needless to say, I am not the gardener woman that I wish I was.
So this time, I played it a little smarter. We bought pre-grown herbs, and Heather helped me to pot our little babies with some good potting soil and a gentle hand. So far so good! I have lavender, basil, and chocolate mint. (yes, chocolate mint - smells like an andies candy!)
In the midst of all of the potting, planting and growing - another little soul is growing so rapidly I feel as if some days it is right before my eyes. Emma lee, we love you so. I love our days that start out with some morning cuddling, a bottle for you, and a cup of hot hazelnut creme coffee for me. Days that end with warm baths, cozy posy towel time, and rocking you to sleep. (my absolute favorite time of the day) I cannot imagine a world without your wonderful little heart in it. And you are mobile now! You crawl! It amazes me that a tiny human that I held inside of me for nine months, has been out of me for less time than that, can move and go where she wants on her own accord.
Gah.. she is SO beautiful!
Time go to play with my little...
Happy Sunday, friends!
